Siliman University Admission Information


Siliman University is one of the leading Private Christian University in Dumaguete City . Its one of the finest and competive institution in the Philippines when it comes to research and development . 
Siliman is  recognized  by the QS Quacquarelli Symonds as the  top 150 universities in Asia based on, an institution that ranks the world’s top universities. And was ranked 4th in the country according to PRC in a 10 year board exam results following three schools of the University of the Philippines .

Admission Procedure: The following are from Siliman Official admission page


Siliman has changed the procedure for admission and is now adopting the implementation of an open admission policy .   Silliman University Admission and Placement Examination or SUAPE is no longer a requirement upon admission. But the Enrollment in the University continues to be selective. Admission is still determined by the Committee on Admissions which determines who among graduates of approved secondary schools are competent to pursue a program of study at Silliman and ensure that applicants belong to at least the top 20 per cent of their high school class. 
The Admission process:
  1. Student accomplishes the SILIMAN Application Download form
  2. Student prepares the following requirements:(a) Form 138 (fourth year high school report card); (b) Certification from the school principal that the applicant belongs to the top 20 per cent of the graduating class; (c) Two statements of good moral character (one from the school, one from a prominent member of the community); (d) One passport sized copy of latest picture; (e) Physical examination certification issued by a registered physician, attesting to the student’s fitness for school. Testing for the following requirements must be done at the Silliman University Medical Center: chest X-ray and CBC lab examinations; (f) for Nursing and Physical Therapy applicants) Results of college-specific admission test.
  3. Students who would like to preregister may submit early the above requirements on or before May 4, 2012. Preregistered students may report to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions to claim their print-out schedule and complete the enrollment process two days before classes start in June 2012. 
  4. Student submits the accomplished  Application for Admission form and th requirements in No. 2 to:

Admission Requirements
Freshmen Applicants Admission of first year applicants is based on four (4) criteria:
  • ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
  • QUALITY OF THE SCHOOL the applicant comes from
  • INTERVIEW
  • (For Nursing and Physical Therapy Applicants) SCORES IN THE ENTRANCE AND QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS. 
Applicants must be graduates of a four-year secondary course in a public or private high school, or its equivalent.  Applicants for admission should be submitted to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions. If on-campus accommodation is desired, application must be sent earlier than the scheduled enrollment. 
Application should include:  
  • Accomplished “Application for Admission” form
  • Form 138 (fourth-year high school general average grade of at least 80% to qualify for general admission; for Nursing and PT courses) 
  • Letters of recommendation from: 
    • the high school principal or counselor certifying to the applicant’s work
    • a prominent member of the community
  • One (1) passport sized (2″x2″) copy of latest picture
  • One (1) short-size window envelope with postage stamp
  • Certificate from school principal indicating that the said student belongs to the top 20% of the graduating class.
  • Certified photocopy of birth certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar 
  • Results of the qualifying examination for Nursing and Physical Therapy 
Prospective students will be interviewed by the Admissions Officer and the College Dean or his/her representative.  An interview schedule will be made by the College as soon as the admission requirements are met.
