WVSU opening doors for Czech Republic

ANOTHER international agreement with a European university is coming up for West Visayas State University with the visit of professors and students from the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies of Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic.

In a meeting with WVSU officials lead by Pres. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr., discussions centered on collaborative activities primarily in research,  internship and immersion activities for students, faculty, and staff which will be formalized with the next round of talks between administrative heads of both institutions.

Associate Professor Ales Ruda, head of the delegation, said that Mendel University is right now exploring ties with Asia as part of the strengthening of the internationalization efforts of universities in Europe. Initiatives to formalize link with WVSU through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) are among the first of its kind with a university in the Philippines.

WVSU officials lead by Pres. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr., welcome professors and students of Mendel University, Czech Republic, for explorative talks leading to formalization of agreements between two institutions.

For its part, WVSU is opening its doors to various international agreements consistent with the goal of the University to establish linkages with various universities and other organizations from different parts of the world, thereby enhancing its international reputation.

The Team from Czech Republic is in the country for five weeks for student internships and immersions to various Philippine institutions, Filipino culture, and gathering of data for student researches.
