Southway College of Technology was declared Regional Winner of the 2017 Productivity Olympics conducted by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

The award was received by Vice President for Academic Affairs Beverly Chavez in a ceremony held in Butuan City last June 27, 2017.

According to Chavez, Socotech is the only higher education institution in the locality to be given such award. “It felt very overwhelming because this is a manifestation of Socotech’s commitment to quality and genuine service not only to clients but to employees as well”, he said.

Chavez also recalled that the same award was given to Socotech in 2015. “A proof that our practices are sustained”, he added.

The Productivity Olympics is a competition of best productivity practices of micro, small and medium enterprise, which aims to intensify national awareness and commitment to quality and productivity.

“With Socotech belonging to the array of regional winners means that we can showcase our best practices, and it means a lot”, Chavez further said.

Socotech expresses appreciation to the award-giving body for the recognition.

He also further stressed that Socotech is committed to continue the winning practices and improve for the better. “We will sustain these practices and commit to further improve because there are still a lot of room to be developed”, he committed.
