The action of the school administration in sending teachers into different seminars about the K-12 program seems to be favorable response of the school to the call of the government for the massive implementation of the enhanced basic education cycle this June 2012.

In an exclusive interview of the ROSARIAN TORCH to OLMC President, Rev. Fr. Stephen Redillas, O.P. he said that although the public schools are the ones greatly affected by the plan, private schools like OLMC should also be prepared. He clarified that the program is not really new to OLMC since the school has been offering kindergarten and preparatory courses for years.

Meanwhile, OLMC Vice-President Sr. Ma. Elena R. Enriquez, O.P. told the TORCH that the school is still waiting for the memorandum coming from the DepED. “We’ll give you an updates once we received it. But definitely we’re ready,” Enriquez said.

Under the K-12 BEC plan, the country’s current 10-year basic education, covering six years of elementary and four years of highschool, will stretch 12-years – six years of elementary, four years of junior highschool (Grade 7 to 10) and two years of señior highschool.
