“If you wanna make the world a better place... take a look at your self and make that… CHANGE!”
The message of this song entitled ‘Man in the Mirror’ by Michael Jackson best describes the students of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) as they were united during the repacking of the relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) held at the Jblfmu-Molo Audio Visual Room last December 20-22, 2013.
The relief operation was organized by Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. and was participated by both Jblfmu-Arevalo and Molo’s Maersk placement passers and alumnus.
Furthermore, 320 bags of goods were repacked which included bar soaps, canned goods, powdered drinks, and other cooking ingredients.
The company distributed the relief goods to the affected areas of the typhoon in Northern Panay where each family, as they celebrate Christmas, will also receive an emergency light and a sack of rice.
Meanwhile, Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. now has four batches of placement passers in the university.
