Stay safe and stay healthy!BREAKING: The City of Zamboanga records its second confirmed COVID case today, March 30. Mayor Beng Climaco will address the city this afternoon, 4PM, to provide details on the second case and to provide updates on the city's battle plans versus COVID together with Department of Health and the City Health Office.

Our second case is a 48-year old female from Barangay Tumaga with history of travel from Manila. She is currently confined in the COVID-19 Isolation Room of West Metro Medical Center. Due to strict measures and protocols implemented by the hospital administration and its health workers, the patient was screened early, has been isolated since the screening and is being managed well. The patient will be transferred soon to ZCMC, our COVID-19 Center. We thank the frontliners and management of West Metro for their hard work and for adhering to the protocols to protect both our community and our health care system.

As this develops, we request for residents to remain calm and NOT panic. The LGU, West Metro, and health authorities are following protocols for the proper handling of our second case and has initiated contact tracing. PLEASE CONTINUE TO STAY HOME – ESTA NA CASA – to prevent infection and spread of the virus.
