Keep your head on straight

Log out of all social networking sites – If checking your phone every minute is bad, checking your Facebook account for new notifications or your Twitter for new tweets every minute is worse. It not only distracts your concentration, it also eats up valuable time that you can use for studying. Instead of spending the early evening hours for social sites and cramming until midnight to study, do it the other way around. You’ll be surprised how much work you can get done in a short amount of time, saving you more hours for fun online activities.
Go to that “Special” Place
Find a place that is comfortable and allows you to concentrate better. It may be your desk inside your room, a special spot in your backyard, or a quiet corner in the library. It should be a place that is quiet and peaceful with little to distract you.
Organize with color
We all take notes, but is it organized enough for us to even understand it? Keeping an organized outline when we study is a great way to remove unnecessary information and jargons from entering our minds. For example, if you have an exam for a specific subject, gather your notes, make a list of the categories under the subject and list the specific lessons and formulas. This would be more effective and efficient instead of scanning through all your notes.
Create Code Names
Creating codenames for formulas or abbreviations for terms may help you memorize them better. For example, if you have to memorize parts of human internal organs such as Intestine, Heart, Bladder, Lungs, call it BLIH. Giving your mind small bites of information may help it in absorbing them.
Have a Break
Pushing your brain to absorb information is as bad as pushing your body to do something when you really are tired. Have a 15-minute break per hour to let the information sink in.
